Benchmarking best practices in Web-based nursing courses

Article Abstract:

A benchmarking assessment process was developed for Internet-based nursing courses at three state schools of nursing. Student perceptions of distance learning convenience were determined by age and distance from campus, and the active learning scale used in this research provided considerable data for faculty members to guide decision making.

Narrative Pedagogy: Heideggerian hermeneutical analyses of lived experiences of students, teachers, and clinicians

Article Abstract:

Narrative Pedagogy is an education technique developed for nursing education in the late 1980s that uses contemporary narratives from teachers, students, and the community to treat all health care issues. This method uses feminist, phenomenologic, critical, and conventional pedagogies to revision nursing education.

They took the time ... they started to care: stories of African-American nursing students in intercultural caring groups

Article Abstract:

The experience of African American nursing students in a predominantly white education program helped all involved learn respect for diversity. Stress management relaxation techniques, emphasis on caring and communication, and growing trust were significant elements in this experience.
