Benefit segmentation of the fitness market

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to discover any connection between attitude toward healthcare and perceived benefits of fitness. Of the 50% of the sample answering that they exercise regularly, three groups emerged on the basis of their answers to the perceived benefits of exercise. First, the 'winners' who will do whatever it takes to get ahead, second the 'dieters' who exercise to maintain their appearance and third the 'self-improvers' who exercise to feel better. These categories can be used as a basis for targeting the groups by hospitals, fitness centers and pharmacies.
