Geriatric care is bound to become a key market for healthcare providers as the aged population increases, and many hospitals are turning to outsourcing as a means to care for their clients. A large number of consulting firms and other organizations exits with special expertise in geriatric care, including nursing and psychiatric care companies. Outsourcing is also a good means of choosing the best price for services.

Picking a peck of trouble; the feds plan to monitor the use of patient data to select healthy seniors and screen out sick ones

Article Abstract:

Healthcare industry observers say that the federal government is shifting its focus from investigating abuses and fraud in fee-for-service healthcare plans, to managed care plans. They observers note that up to now, federal investigators had focused on fee-for-service plans. Investigators, in the meantime, are monitoring the use of patient information to pick healthy seniors and leave out sick ones.
