Perinatal Computerized Patient Record and Archiving Systems: Pitfalls and Enhancements for Implementing a Successful Computerized Medical Record

Article Abstract:

Computerized patient record (CPR) systems offer both advantages and disadvantages for nurses involved in perinatology. There are implementation and staff development issues as well as ergonomic and maintenance considerations. Perinatal nurses involved in purchasing and maintaining such systems and putting them into use need to understnad important elements. Rationales for decisions on purchases are discussed

Nursing work force in practice and education: what can we learn from the current crisis?

Article Abstract:

The current nursing labor supply shortage is different and more critical than earlier deficits, being more severe and probably lasting well into the 21st century. The future nursing work force will have to discover new approaches to recruitment and retention of nurses and to locating support from many sources.
