The end of sharing?

Article Abstract:

The US passed major social legislation in the mid-1900s to address the need to share toward the greater need. These included the Social Security Act of 1935 and the Medicare and Medicaid laws passed in 1965. The political economy of sharing an ever-growing wealth, however, has become a problem as and this situation will become increasingly highlighted as the population grows older and a more equitable distribution of the nation's wealth becomes a necessity.

Parting gestures

Article Abstract:

End-of-life health care has no easy solutions and needs to more training for physicians and other caregivers, according to a report from the United Hospital Fund of New York. Targeting health care consumers

Article Abstract:

Several health care executives have concentrated their marketing efforts on corporate benefits managers rather than the health care consumer. Consumers are taking more initiative in finding out their health care options, especially managed care plans. US families are evaluating the physicians, services and access options in a comprehensive way rather than focusing on specific programs.
