The view from here - informed consumer - caveat emptor

Article Abstract:

A critical view of consumer-driven health care that is being promoted as a method to curtail health care expenditures is presented. The object is to make consumers pay for their health care and plan for it. However, planning of health care by an individual is a risky and formidable task. The adverse implications of this method of health benefits are also discussed.
