16th Annual Meeting of the Society of Perinatal Obstetricians

Article Abstract:

A total of 676 abstracts of papers to be presented at the 16th Annual Meeting of the Society of Perinatal Obstetricians, Feb 4-10 1996, are presented. Abstracts are organized by topic and time of presentation. Topics include prematurity, genetics and prenatal diagnosis, risk assessment, placental physiology, clinical obstetrics, pregnancy and possible complications, premature labor, fetal monitoring and therapy, OB anaesthesia, hypertensive disease in pregnancy, infectious diseases, neonatology, diagnostic uses of ultrasound, and maternal-fetal physiology, as well as many others. There are also subject, author and organization indexes.

The notable presentations of the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (SAAOG) are discussed. A vital part of the program is Case Presentations before a learned panel which is utilized in 33 of the 64 previous meetings and some of the more interesting topics include in 1956 'Twin pregnancy with one twin blighted' by R.C. Forman.

Article Abstract:

A study was formulated to ascertain the progress of recipients of research training in obstetrics and gynecology in establishing an active research career in academic medicine. Research outcomes showed that recipients of training established an active research career in academic medicine.
