Parental perceptions of their preschool-aged children's oral health

Article Abstract:

Data from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey is used to examine parental perceptions of their children's (2-5 years of age) oral health and factors relating to these perceptions. Results indicate that 89 percent of parents perceived child's oral health positively. Key observation was the impact off parental social demographic variable on perceptions.

Vitamin and mineral supplements: what is a dentist to do?

Article Abstract:

Recommendations for use and consumer intake patterns of vitamins and minerals and the need for dental professionals to be familiar with their patients' multivitamin mineral (MVM) supplements to use evidence-based resources for avoiding risks are discussed. Scientific evidence of their benefits in select diseases, as well as their limited usefulness, is presented.

Methamphetamine use and oral health

Methamphetamine, an addictive drug, which on using, affects the nervous system, and its other side effects are discussed. The causes of methamphetamine-related tooth decay are also presented.
