Climbing every mountain
Article Abstract:
A new method of filming onto digital tape has been tried out for a new BBC Scotland documentary on mountain climbing. The DVCAM digital tape, developed by Sony, enables cameramen to film more difficult shots due to its size and shape. The quality of pictures is high and, when editing, rushes are converted onto optical disks for maximum clarity. The production company trying out the new Sony equipment, Triple Echo, hired the DVCAM for a lower cost than they would normally for the standard DigiBeta package.
