A guide to regulation of blood gases: Part two

Article Abstract:

Arterial blood gases (ABGs) provide information about a patient's respiratory and metabolic status. A systematic step-by-step approach in interpreting arterial blood gas is described, along with the causes for abnormal respiratory and metabolic values, as well the methods and standards to determine the status of the pH, and the assessment of respiratory and metabolic components.

A guide to regulation of blood gases: Part one

Article Abstract:

Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis is of great significance in diagnosing, maintaining the oxygen levels and acid-base balance in a patient and determining the need of medical aid in improving patient care. The need for taking blood gases and the physiology that highlight the maintenance of blood gases within normal ranges are described.
