The shear stress of keeping arteries clear

Article Abstract:

The force exerted by blood as it flows through the vessels is found to influences the development of atherosclerosis. A new mechanism is defined, where shear stress prompts an anti-inflammatory, antiatherosclerotic effect in the endothelium.

Inflamed about obesity

Article Abstract:

Two studies that reveal the common aspects in adipocytes and macrophages are reported. It also reveals the linking of obesity to diabetes due to inflammatory response.
