Both medical and social issues are being tackled by UK army medical staff in the war-torn country of Bosnia in Eastern Europe. Captain Matt Kiernan is involved in a morale building project with local people, many of whom have been driven from their homes and their livelihoods destroyed. Kiernan believes the army can help people socially as well as protect them during times of war. Army volunteers are taking it upon themselves to help local people re-build their homes, using skills they have learnt both in combat and during peace time.
