A previously unidentified alternatively spliced isoform of t(8;21) transcript promotes leukemogenesis

Article Abstract:

A report on unidentified and alternatively spliced transcript, AE9a from t(8;21) is presented to demonstrate its leukemogenic potential. The study of the transcript indicates that fusion proteins from alternatively spliced isoforms of a chromosomal translocation might work together to induce cancer development.

Prevention of the neurocristopathy Treacher Collins syndrome through inhibition of p53 function

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the impact of the inhibition of p53 function on the neurocristopathy Treacher Collins syndrome (TCS), a disorder that encodes the nucleolar phosphoprotein Treacle. The analysis shows that p53 inhibition contributes majorly to the prevention of TCS and several other neurocristopathies.

Differentiation or leukemia: is C/EBP(alpha) the answer?

Article Abstract:

Research presented concerns the genetic mutations and chromosomal translocations that are associated with acute myeloid leukemia. Research on hematopoiesis, leukemogenesis, transcription factor C/EBR(alpha), and cell differentiation is detailed.
