In situ detection of virus- and tumor-specific T-cell immunity

Article Abstract:

This article describes in situ visualization of antigen-specific T-cell responses using tetrameric-major histocompatibility complex (MHC) complexes. Data are also presented on the detection of virus- and tumor-specific CD8+ T cells using a combination method comprising of MHC tetramer technology and confocal laser scanning microscopy.

A rapid and potent DNA vaccination strategy defined by in vivo monitoring of antigen expression

Article Abstract:

The development of a new rapid and potent intradermal DNA vaccination method is discussed. Humoral immunity against influenza A infection is provided by the vaccination strategy within two weeks after the start of vaccination.

Vaccine leads to memory loss

Article Abstract:

Mouse models are used to show that a widely used approach to vaccine adjuvants, targeting of the CD40 receptor, might have an unexpected deleterious side-effect, as it abolishes long-term T-cell responsiveness toward tumor antigens. Researchers have provided evidence for the long-term effect of this vaccine adjuvant, where they show that the vaccination with antibody to CD40 can actually interfere with the long-term capacity for T-cell reactivity.
