A rotational programme for newly qualified surgical nurses

Article Abstract:

Research on rotational programmes has indicated that staff welcomes the opportunity to gain a variety of clinical experience and it does not present any risk to job security. Staff from the surgical division of Safford Royal Hospitals NHS Trust developed an 18-month surgical rotation program for newly qualified nurses recruited directly from university, aiming to be able to increase the supportive mechanisms in clinical areas.
