A vexing vaccination

Article Abstract:

Uncertainty about the benefits of pneumococcal vaccination has led to confusion and to varied levels of uptake across the UK. Widespread use of the vaccination for groups including the elderly or the asthmatic is probably not justifiable, due to the lack of any evidence indicating substantial cost benefit. However, pneumococcal infection causes around 1,500 deaths per year and use of the vaccine is recommended for high-risk groups. These groups include HIV patients, asplenic patients, and patients with severe chronic lung diseases.

This information allows advertisers to focus their strategy and media buying for an ad campaign. In this first of a series of articles which will focus on how to use demographics in advertising, a list of books is provided for those who wish to develop a library.
