Air lines

Article Abstract:

Employees working outdoors often encounter the same risk of respiratory disease as those working in enclosed areas. COSHH Regulations and European directives have highlighted the need for control measures when working with harmful substances. There is new emphasis on occupational asthma and the use of respiratory protective equipment. Farming can often lead to lung disease with exposure to pesticides and other chemicals, and construction workers are at risk from fine dust and welding fumes. Respiratory protection should be comfortable to wear, easy to use and provide good protection.

Sense and sensitivity

Article Abstract:

Hand skin allergies caused by chemicals account for over 25% of all injuries in the UK. Allergies contracted are: dermatitis; acne; beryllium and mercury poisoning; skin cancer and epitheliomatous ulceration. Solvents used for hand cleaning can aggravate skin problems. The correct choice of industrial glove is important as some dissolve in water and some chemicals can permeate through the glove without destroying it. Marigold have designed the Tripletec Plus which has improved durability, and is oil, fat and chemical resistant.
