Amniotic fluid index vs single deepest pocket technique during modified biophysical profile: a randomized clinical trial

Article Abstract:

A randomized clinical trial was conducted to determine the impact of using the amniotic fluid index (AFI) compared with the single deepest pocket in conjunction with a nonstress test among high-risk pregnancies. It was found that during antepartum fetal surveillance, use of single deepest pocket compared with AFI was associated with a significantly lower rate of suspected oligohydramnios.

A randomized clinical trial of the intrapartum assessment of amniotic fluid volume: amniotic fluid index versus the single deepest pocket technique

Article Abstract:

A study to determine whether an intrapartum assessment of amniotic fluid identifies a pregnancy that is at risk for adverse intrapartum outcomes is conducted. The results revealed that the amniotic fluid index and 2*1 pocket technique, both undertaken as a fetal admission test are unable to identify a pregnancy that is at risk for an adverse outcome.

Is there a relationship to dye determined or ultrasound estimated amniotic fluid volume adjusted percentiles and fetal weight adjusted percentiles?

Article Abstract:

.A study is undertaken to determine whether there is a correlation between amniotic fluid indices (AFIs) and/or dye-determined amniotic fluid volume and neonatal birth weight. The results convey that neonatal birth weight is not correlated with a dye-determined or ultrasound estimated amniotic fluid volume.
