Amniotic fluid intercellular adhesion molecule-1 is a marker for Ureaplasma infection in women with preterm labor

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine the amniotic fluid soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 concentrations in women with preterm labor in relation to intra-amniotic infection. It is concluded that amniotic fluid soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 concentrations exceeding 1290 ng/ml can be used as a marker for intra-amniotic infection with Ureaplasma in patients with preterm labor.

Early intervention for perinatal depression

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to design a process that effectively identifies and facilitates early intervention for women in an obstetrics clinic who are at risk for postpartum depression. Multidisciplinary approach suggests that educating, screening, and appropriately treating or refering the women can take place in a busy obstetric clinic.
