The recordkeeping dilemma

Article Abstract:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) conduct of a second round of its program to evaluate the injury and illness records of employers will ensure that OSHA 200 logs are not underreported. There had been a prevalence of intentional recordkeeping discrepancies in the OSHA's auditing program in the past because of the lack of indepth audits on the logs. Employers understated the records to avoid penalties and the OSHA's commitment to injury reduction at specific industries encouraged it to rely without proper evaluation on the underreported OSHA logs.
