An overview of steroid use and its potential side-effects

Article Abstract:

Steroids are prescribed for their physiological and pharmacological effects as they have an anti-inflammatory influence and suppress immune responses. However, this can cause side-effects and therefore assessment for the development of side-effects and advice on avoiding infection and injury are essential aspects of the patients taking steroids.
