Oh, what a lovely stoma

Article Abstract:

After undergoing an ileostomy, following a seven year battle with Crohn's disease, the patient has come to terms with the condition and can appreciate the benefits that surgery has brought. Instead of pain and incontinence, the patient can lead a practically normal life. Improved knowledge of ileostomies among some doctors and nurses would have facilitated the early days.
