Following a standard assessment procedure facilitates problem identification. When healing is impossible emphasis should be on relieving symptoms. Holistic nursing emphasises nutrition, pain management and odour control.

The US government's inclusion of Hizbullah, a radical Lebanese Shia Muslim group, in a list of 'terrorist' groups poses problems for Lebanon. Lebanon has a fragile political situation, while there is much popular support for Hizbullah, which many regard as a political, not terrorist, group.
