Beyond the ICU: Nursing's role in decreasing central venous CR-BSIS

Article Abstract:

A nursing team conducted a gap analysis to measure differences between the care and maintenance of central lines on general patient unit and CDC. The assessment indicated that the process of line care was successfully managed in the ICU setting, but the diversity, patient assignments, and geographical location of patients outside the ICU made the process difficult, thus emphasis zing the need for bridging the gap between the two settings.

Enough time should be given to implement a project and sufficient time to allow the end user to learn to operate the upgraded or new equipment.
