Pelvic muscle electromyography of levator ani and external anal sphincter in nulliparous women and women with pelvic floor dysfunction

Article Abstract:

Women with pelvic floor prolapse and urinary stress incontinence have a definite abnormality of the muscles around the urinary and anal sphincters. This was documented by researchers who used electromyography to analyze muscle function in the urinary and anal sphincters.

Bilateral uterosacral ligament vaginal vault suspension with site-specific endopelvic fascia defect repair for treatment of pelvic organ prolapse

Article Abstract:

Surgeons describe a surgical treatment for pelvic organ prolapse that uses the uterosacral ligaments to suspend the vagina in its normal position. Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when pelvic organs are not properly supported and shift out of their normal position.
