Article Abstract:

Bobsledding and luge can be done at former Olympic sites in Lake Placid, NY, or Calgary, Alberta. The sport is exciting and fast, and is sometimes led by a professional sled driver. Rates vary from about $30 to $100. There is also a recreational bobsledding site in Vail, CO.

Race Across America is a 2,905-mile coast-to-coast race that is unmerciful as a solo event but doable as team effort. In the team division, the event becomes a four-person relay in which each participant traverses 726 miles. One relay team member describes his experiences.
