Building partnerships for the improvement of public health

Article Abstract:

Studies reveal that the UK has seen an increase in initiatives to encourage partnership working with the objective of improving services to patients and communities. The inter-organizational and inter-professional relationships for the improvement of public health are evaluated, highlighting the importance of collaborative working, identifying possible partners to ensure coordination, and concludes that agencies need to supplement their own area of expertise with that of other groups for a multisectoral approach.

Article Abstract:

A review on the efforts of different medical institutions to help patients with issues like smoking, obesity, and sexual health is done. It is suggested that nurses should develop skills to develop positive public health messages to all patients and thus become an important medium in improving the health of the nation.

'This role is close to my heart'; as specialist adviser to the government's Homelessness Directorate, Sue Walters aims to raise awareness among policy-makers about health and homelessness

Article Abstract:

Sue Walter has been an advocate of health care for the homeless ever since she served as a health visitor to homeless families in 1991. As an advisor to the British Homelessness Directorate she works to provide funding for nurses to work on projects for the homeless.
