The UK's Joint Industry Board (JIB) for the Electrical Contracting Industry was inaugurated in 1968 and was designed to improve industrial relations in the sector. While the aims of the JIB remain largely unchanged, the electrical sector has altered and many critics suggest that the board should be revised and updated.
