Case 38-2006: A 5-year-old boy with headache and abdominal pain

Article Abstract:

A 5-year-old boy with severe and frequent headache, abdominal pain, increase in abdominal girth and a rash is studied. The diagnosis suggested an inflammatory meningovascular process called the Dego's disease involving the brain, gastrointestinal tract and skin.

The case study of a 42-year-old woman who faced a cardiac arrest after an ankle fracture is presented. The study reveals that the cardiac arrest was due to a pulmonary embolus.
