Cdk5-dependent regulation of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion

Article Abstract:

Inhibition of the activity of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) enhanced insulin secretion under conditions of stimulation by high glucose but not low glucose in MIN6 cells and pancreatic islets. Results suggested that Cdk5/p35 might be a drug target for the regulation of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion.

Specific peptide interference reveals BCL6 transcriptional and oncogenic mechanisms in B-cell lymphoma cell

Article Abstract:

The contribution of the interface through which the BCL6 BTB domain mediates recruitment of the SMRT, NCoR and BCoR corepressors to BCL6 transcriptional and biological properties is determined. BTB domain peptide inhibitors may constitute a new therapeutic agent for B-cell lymphomas.

A new cell-permeable peptide allows successful allogeneric islet transplantation in mice

Article Abstract:

In search for safer drugs, a cell-permeable inhibitor of NFAT (nuclear factor of activated T cells) using the polyrginine peptide delivery system was developed. This peptide provided immunosuppression for fully mismatched islet allografts in mice.
