Cerebral hemodynamics during the induction of antenatal periventricular leukomalacia by hemorrhagic hypotension in chronically instrumented fetal sheep

Article Abstract:

The characteristics of cerebral ischemia during the induction of antenatal periventricular leukomalacia by hemorrhagic hypotension in premature fetal sheep are determined. The no-reflow phenomenon and successive reperfusion injuries after cerebral ischemia could be closely involved in the induction of antenatal periventricular leukomalacia.

Are maternal hypertension and small-for-gestational age risk factors for severe intraventricular hemorrhage and cystic periventricular leukomalacia? Results of the EPIAGE cohort study

Article Abstract:

The relationships between different causes of preterm delivery and cerebral damage are examined. Results show that infants born to hypertensive mothers have a lower risk of cerebral injuries than infants born following idiopathic preterm labor and preterm premature rupture of membranes, as they are less exposed to prenatal infection.

Fetal sex and indicated very preterm birth: Results of the EPIPAGE study

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to explore the association between fetal sex, mode of onset of labor and principal cause of very preterm birth. The result that pregnancies carrying female infants have a greater predisposition to indicated very preterm bath associated with hypertension has not been reported.
