Cesarean scar pregnancy: quantitative assessment of uterine neovascularization with 3-dimensional color power Doppler imaging and successful treatment with uterine artery embolization

Article Abstract:

The use of the 3-dimensional virtual organ computer-aided analysis imaging system for monitoring of the quantification of changes of uterine neovascularization before and after successful treatment with uterine artery embolization (UAE) in cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) is investigated. The 3-dimensional color power Doppler imaging (CDI) technique is used to monitor the quantification changes of uterine neovascularization characteristics before and after successful treatment with UAE in CSP.

Elective cesarean delivery plus short-course lamivudine and zidovudine for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of human immunodeficiency virus type 1

Article Abstract:

The effect of the elective cesarean delivery plus a lamivudine-zidovudine prophylaxis regimen on non-breastfeeding mothers with HIV-1 and their infants are evaluated. It was seen that the elective cesarean delivery plus short-course lamivudine-zidovudine was safe but did not eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV-1.

Once a pregnancy, always a cesarean? Rationale and feasibility of a randomized controlled trial

Article Abstract:

The need for a randomized controlled trial is emphasized to weigh the relative merits of elective primary cesarean and vaginal delivery. Ethics and feasibility of an elective cesarean delivery as against vaginal delivery is considered and discussed.
