Challenges lie in details of smallpox plan

Article Abstract:

The emergency physicians, other doctors, and health care workers were offered smallpox vaccination as a precaution under President BushEs smallpox response plan unveiled in December 2002. While several medical groups supported the approach, the Service Employees International, AmericaEs largest union of nurses and other hospital employees, and the American Nurses Association did not agree, thus warning that the plan would put their members and patients at risk.

Physicians and medical authorities are working on new tools, technology, and updated models of care to improve battlefield treatment. The improvements are seen in several fields including training of personnel, organization of care, and medications and procedures to be performed.

Dieting may produce weight gains in youths

Article Abstract:

A study revealed that dieting by children and adolescent leads to weight gain rather than loss. Hence, it is important for clinician to have good discussion with the patient about healthy and unhealthy nutrition and ways to control their weight.
