Changes in abortions and births and the Texas parental notification law

Article Abstract:

The changes in the rates of abortions, births and the timing of abortion among minors were analyzed before and after enforcement of e. The Texas potential notification law was associated with a reduction in abortion rates among minors from 15 to 17 years of age and was also associated with increased birth rates and rates of abortion during the second trimester increased among the subgroup of minors who were 17.50 to 17.74 years of age at the time of conception.

A proposal for radical changes in the drug-approval process

Article Abstract:

Radical changes are proposed to encourage the drug-development and drug-approval process. The fundamental philosophy underlying the proposed changes is that as compared with other therapies, safer, more effective, or uniquely effective therapies are inherently more valuable to patients and increased commercial value through a longer period of exclusivity.

Can Massachusetts lead the way in health care reform?

Article Abstract:

The legislature has passed health care reform legislation in April 2006 that is designed to cover 90 to 95 percent of Massachusetts' uninsured citizens over the next three years. The health care plan for uninsured is built on the concept of shared responsibility and this has sent a positive message to the rest of the US.
