Child labour

Article Abstract:

Child labor exacerbates health care access problems in the developing world, because children are more susceptible than adults to diseases and conditions caused by an unhealthy work environment. The relationships between child labor, poverty, and health care are analyzed.

Health risks of child labour

Children are acknowledged to be at higher risk for workplace health problems than adults, yet child labor persists in nations where poverty is widespread. Proposed solutions include compulsory education laws, wage increases, and improved job training.

The key to child survival

BUNSO is a national coalition in the Philippines which promotes material and child health. The group, which is named after a local term meaning 'the youngest child in the family,' emphasizes breast-feeding as the best way to feed infants.
