Childcare problems solved

Article Abstract:

Childcare Solutions, a national telephone-based advisory service for working parents, is extending its services by offering advice from professional former NHS health visitors for employees of companies which subscribe to the service. The health visitors will be able to advise on a wide range of issues related to childcare, and Childcare Solutions can also provide a referral service for emergency care. The company aims to ensure that working parents have the access to expert information which they require for all members of the family.

Reliability of reported occupational history information for US coal miners, 1969-1977

Article Abstract:

Researches investigated the reliability of occupational histories reported by coal workers twice by separating them by 9 years. For 480 coal workers whose histories were recorded twice, the reliability factor was 87%. In epidemiological studies, the reproducibility of self-reported information is important to make certain the true exposure effect is not underestimated. It is also important that random variation in both the response and exposure be sufficiently small.
