Childhood obesity: adrift in the "limbic triangle"

Article Abstract:

The various neuroendocrine mechanisms in the "limbic triangle" of a human's brain that arise the need of food and lead to severe obesity in children are discussed. Integrated multidisciplinary education, stress reduction and social alterations in the food environments are found to be the immediate steps required to reduce the problem of childhood obesity.

Is human hibernation possible?

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the possibility and benefits of hibernation and hypometabolism in humans, where in the ischemia damage to the cells and organs are reduced. The application of the biomolecule, 5'-AMP for allowing nonhibernating mammals to enter the state of hypothermia is also discussed.

Preeclampsia and angiogenic imbalance

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the effects of excess circulating angiogenic imbalances on the molecular pathogenesis of preeclampsia, a systemic syndrome of pregnancy. The antiangiogenic factors are found to lead to hypertension and several other systemic manifestations in the patients.
