Chondromodulin-I maintains cardiac valvular function by preventing angiogenesis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying valvular avascularity and its correlation with valvular heart diseases (VHD). The findings provide evidence that chondromodulin-I play a pivotal role in maintaining valvular normal function by preventing angiogenesis that might lead to VHD.

Sema3a maintains normal heart rhythm through sympathetic innervation patterning

Article Abstract:

A study to explain that a gradient of the neutral chemorepellent, Sema3a, is necessary for proper cardiac sympathetic innervation patterning was conducted. The results showed that the sympathetic innervation is absolutely vital for the proper functioning of the heart.
