Clinical correlates of pain with amniocentesis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine whether sensory or affective dimensions of pain with genetic amniocentesis were associated with identifiable clinical correlates. Women were found to report mild pain or discomfort with genetic amniocentesis while increased pain was associated with increased maternal anxiety.

Postdates pregnancy in an indigent population: the financial burden

Article Abstract:

Twice weekly blood tests for low-income pregnant women who are past term is cheaper than giving all pregnant women an ultrasound scan before 20 weeks' gestation, according to a study of 127 women. Most blood tests are started at 41 weeks. Pregnancies that last longer than 42 weeks can harm the unborn baby.

The effect of parenthood on perceived quality of life in teens

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted which describes that perceived quality of life of teen mothers. Perceived quality of life in teen mothers does not appear to be lower than quality of life in teens without children or adult women.
