Clinical signs predict 30-month neurodevelopmental outcome after neonatal encehalopathy

Article Abstract:

A study was performed to determine the value of a neonatal encephalopathy score (ES) and the presence of seizures for predicting 30-month neurodevelopmental outcome. It led to the conclusion that the severity of neonatal encephalopathy and the presence of seizures are valuable predictors of the said outcome, as early as the first day of life.

Two-year infant neurodevelopmental outcome after single or multiple antenatal courses of corticosteroids to prevent complications of prematurity

Article Abstract:

The effect of exposure to multiple antenatal steroid courses on short-term neonatal morbidity and 2-year infant neurodevelopment outcome is examined. The exposure results in an increased risk of leukomalacia and neurodevelopment abnormalities in 2-year infant neurodevelopmental outcome.
