The role of maternal body mass index in outcomes of vaginal births after cesarean

Article Abstract:

The association between maternal body mass index and obstetrical outcome in patients with a prior cesarean undergoing a trial of labor versus elective repeat cesarean is evaluated. Results suggest that maternal body mass index is an independent factor associated with a lower rate of successful vaginal birth after cesarean.

Trial of labor in patients with a previous cesarean section: does maternal age influence the outcome?

Article Abstract:

The effect of maternal age on the rate of vaginal delivery and the rate of uterine rupture in patients undergoing a trial of labor (TOL) after a prior cesarean delivery is evaluated. It is found that patients who are 35 years or older are prone to have a failed TOL after a prior cesarean delivery.
