Successful health promotion must be based on the needs of the local community. It is a two way phenomenon and some of the traditional health practices and ways of communication should be restored. Herbal medicines, street theaters, puppet shows and the like can be viable forces in health education.

Article Abstract:

Teen health promotion programs need the active participation of young people in order to succeed. A WHO program studied the health behavior of a group of Israeli teens. Problems such as excessive dieting by girls, and increased skin cancer, existed. Remedial strategies employed, are discussed.
