Creating incentives for genomic research to improve targeting of therapies

Article Abstract:

Pharmacogenmics, a study of genetic variability in the way people respond to medicines, traced to the expression of genes related to disease susceptibility and drug response at the cellular, tissue, individual and population levels has the potential to improve targeting of therapies through various tests. Companies are looking out for improving the targeting of therapies by further improving and creating incentives.

Advances in the use of synthetic combinatorial chemistry: mixture-based libraries

Article Abstract:

Mixture-based combinatorial libraries are the latest technological improvement in the field of combinatorial chemistry widely used in pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions for drug-discovery and identification of active compounds for research. Their first use is demonstrated in the measurement of blood pressure and heart rate following experimental peptide injection.

Heparin binding directs activation of T cells against adeno-associated virus serotype 2 capsid

Article Abstract:

T-cell responses to adeno-associated virus (AAV) capsids after intramuscularly injection of vectors into mice and nonhuman primates are evaluated to investigate the liver toxicity caused by the virus. The results reveal direct correlations between heparin binding, uptake into human dendritic cells and activation of capsid-specific T cells,
