All that jazz on a shoestring

Article Abstract:

Neil Rawles produced a television documentary on the influence of jazz masters on contemporary musicians with a 5,500 pounds sterling grant from his regional arts board, Eastern Arts. Mr Rawles, 23, graduated in video production at Bournemouth. He used Super 8 cine film for an unreal quality for much of his film 'Here and Now - Sampled.' His style uses fast-moving images and choppy editing with multitrack sound techniques. The documentary will be entered in a Rome film festival by the British Council.

The African National Congress partyencouraged this militancy before it came to power, although now it is on the receiving end of the action it refuses to consider amendments to pay until the next pay rounds in 1996.
