Delay implementation of single exam

Article Abstract:

The National Board of Medical Examiners and the Federation of State Medical Boards of the United States should not implement the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). The USMLE, which will replace two other exams, will be a three-part exam consisting of 700-800 multiple choice questions in each section. However, the test will not examine whether an individual is prepared to be a physician. Rather the USMLE will only test the applicants' knowledge of courses taken in medical school. Other concerns that call for the delay of USMLE implementation are also presented.

Terror against doctors must stop

Article Abstract:

Abortions are legal medical procedures, and harassment and terrorism against doctors and clinics who perform them must be prevented. The American Medical Association has asked for immediate action by the Justice Department in investigating and stopping groups and individuals who threaten health care professionals for any reason. The medical association has also asked for federal Health Worker Protection legislation and for safety areas around medical facilities, where terrorists will not be allowed to go.

FBI: suspects in doctor fraud have fled the country

Article Abstract:

Daniel Nicherie and Emmanuel Nicherie, who are suspected of defrauding six physicians of millions of dollars, may have fled to Israel, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The two men offered the physicians an account receivables service to improve cash flow, but instead kept the money they obtained. Additionally, the Nicheries have been indicted for bank fraud and could each face up to 60 years in prison if convicted. An account of the Nicheries' other criminal activities is also discussed.
