Grafting of glial cell lined-derived neurotrophic factor secreting cells for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy in neonatal rats

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine neuroprotective effect of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor with the use of a delivery system. It was concluded that grafting of encapsulated glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor-secreting cells was a promising way to protect the neonatal brain from hypoxic/ischemic insult.

Dexamethasone prevents long-lasting learning impairment following a combination of lipopolysaccharide and hypoxia-ischemia in neonatal rats

Article Abstract:

The effect of dexamathasone on both histologic and behavioral changes in rats that were exposed to a combination of endotoxin and hypoxia-ischemia (HI) on postnatal day 7 is examined. Dexamethasone is useful for preventing infection and inflammation-induced perinatal brain damage.
