Dietary intake in five ageing cohorts of men in Finland, Italy and the Netherlands

Article Abstract:

The old age dietary patterns in five European cohorts are identified.An atherogenic diet is used by the northern European cohorts of East and West Finland. Italians depend on a healthy Mediterranean diet of cereals, vegetables, fruit and alcohol.have changed for the middle to the old age in the Finnish and Dutch cohorts. The Finnish diet consists of animal products and potatoes. In Italy, alcohol consumption is lower than in the Netherlands. Dietary variation decreases between the groups as the population ages; Finish and Dutch cohorts change to the more healthy Italian diet.

Dietary habits during adolescence - results of the Belgian Adolux Study

Article Abstract:

Research describing the dietary habits of adolescents in Belgium is presented, with focus on populations with high cardiovascular risks. It is concluded that traditional tendencies to eat fatty foods is prevalent and that promotion of healthy foods should address family habits.
