Dimming the candle we hold for Florence

Article Abstract:

A documentary to be shown on BBC2 challenges the reputation of Florence Nightingale, widely seen as the founder of the modern nursing profession in the UK. Particular attention is given to the two years she spent running the military hospital at Scutari during the Crimean War, where death rates were very high.
