Are you ready for the flu season?

Article Abstract:

Primary care nurses need to be able to distinguish between a common cold virus and the more deadly and serious influenza virus, which can be lethal to the very old or very young. It is very hard to tell the difference, although a severe fever, lack of appetite, muscle pains and headaches should alert health professionals to the possibility of influenza. Antiviral treatments are the best front line attack against the virus.

A gender for change

Article Abstract:

The difficult nature of nursing gender identity patients can be very stressful for nurses who have to deal with confused, and often quite disturbed people every day. Male-to-female and female-to-male patients require a vast amount of psychological help to overcome the negative feedback they receive from the public but also from their own feelings of isolation and sexual confusion.
