Doctors as negotiators: adapting to shifting expectations

Article Abstract:

Physician approach to negotiation and conflict resolution is often contingent upon phase of life, but all physicians, regardless of age or outlook, should work toward non-adversarial compromise when they encounter conflictive situations. Physicians can be generally categorized into four groups, corresponding to their age: each of these categories will likely have a different approach to conflict, but all should strive to create an effective voice and an original, encompassing, vision.
